I earned my bachelor's degree in Math with a focus on Education from Montclair State University, which is where I initially began tutoring. When I began college, I was a business major, and enjoyed helping my classmates master the concepts in calculus they found challenging. Since graduation, I have served as a high school teacher, and also do after-school tutoring. I am capable of tutoring students from middle schoolers to college students, and I can tutor students in courses like algebra, calculus, trigonometry, and geometry. However, I am most enthusiastic about tutoring students in beginning algebra. I believe that establishing a solid foundation in mathematical critical thinking and reasoning is imperative to continuing success in future math classes. As a tutor, I enjoy helping my students build upon their understanding of skills previously mastered, and like to pose questions that help students draw connections between what they already know and the concept they're currently working on. When students understand why concepts work, they're able to focus on how to get to the right answers. I love math, and I find helping students master concepts they previously found challenging incredibly satisfying. When I'm not tutoring, I like solving Sudoku puzzles and other types of brain teasers, exercising, and spending time with my family and friends.
